The Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) is a federal government program that provides coverage for Canadian residents who do not have access to dental benefits and have a household income of less than $90,000.00 a year. The CDCP is not a free dental care program, and it’s not intended to replace existing benefits through work, school or private plans

You may have heard that all dental care is covered under the CDCP, but that is not the case. Some treatment and services are not covered, while others require pre-determination from the government.

No. lt is a government dental benefit that covers a part of the cost of your care. You will have to
pay any portion of costs that are not covered by the program.
