Dr. Anahita Azadi Boroujeni, DDS

General dentist and practice owner

Dr. Azadi is the owner of Hazeldean Family Dental Centre. She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from Isfahan University of Medical Sciences in 2011, moved to Canada in 2019, and has been licensed as a general dentist in Ontario since 2020. Many patients know her as Dr. Anna.

Gum health and dental implants are at the centre of her clinical work. She provides gum treatment and gum surgery, including gum grafting for recession, and plans, places and restores Straumann dental implants here in the office. For many patients that means the extraction, any grafting, the implant and the new tooth all happen in one familiar place.

She also provides crowns and bridges, wisdom tooth extractions, ICON treatment for white spots and therapeutic botulinum toxin for jaw clenching and jaw-muscle pain, alongside everyday family dentistry for patients of all ages.

Her approach is simple: show you what she sees, explain your options and their costs clearly, and leave the decision with you.

Dr. Cynthia Simon, DMD

General dentist and co-founder

Dr. Simon co-founded Hazeldean Family Dental Centre with Dr. de Gouw in 1997, the year she earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from the Université de Montréal. She grew up in Sudbury, where her own family dentist first sparked her interest in dentistry.

She provides general, preventive and cosmetic dentistry for the whole family, with a particular interest in how children's teeth and jaws develop. She offers early orthodontic assessments, Myobrace treatment for children, and Invisalign clear aligners for teens and adults.

She is especially interested in how breathing problems in childhood, such as mouth breathing, can affect jaw growth and the way teeth line up, and in spotting them early. She has cared for Kanata families for more than 25 years and continues to see patients here.

Dr. Kyra de Gouw, DMD

General dentist and co-founder

Dr. de Gouw earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from the Université de Montréal in 1997, came home to Ottawa, and opened Hazeldean Family Dental Centre in Kanata that same year with Dr. Simon.

She runs a family-oriented practice that welcomes patients of every age, and has a particular interest in implant and cosmetic dentistry.

Dr. Anahita Azadi Boroujeni, DDS, Dr. Cynthia Simon, DMD, and Dr. Kyra de Gouw, DMD, are general dentists registered with the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario.

Hygienists, assistants and front desk

Our hygienists look after your cleanings and gum health, our assistants support every treatment and keep the instruments sterile, and our front desk handles booking, insurance and the questions in between.

Lori

Dental hygienist

Lori grew up in Montreal, earned her dental hygiene degree there, and has been with the practice since 2003. She lives in Kanata with her family and their two golden retrievers.

Emma

Dental hygienist

Emma grew up in Ottawa and worked as a dental assistant before graduating in dental hygiene in 2021. She joined us in September 2024. Away from work she enjoys the gym, movies, travel and time with friends.

Randeep

Dental hygienist

Randeep grew up in Ottawa, completed a degree in biology, and graduated in dental hygiene in 2019. Randeep joined the team in September 2021 and loves the outdoors and time with family.

Pradnya

Dental hygienist

Pradnya was born in India and moved to Canada in 2017. She worked as a dental assistant in Halifax for five years, then moved to Ottawa in 2023 and graduated in dental hygiene from CNIH College. She's known for gentle, personal care, and enjoys walks, yoga, reading and family time.

Kerry

Dental assistant

Kerry graduated from her dental assisting program in 1997 and has been with the practice since 2004, where she assists Dr. de Gouw. She enjoys outdoor adventures with her husband, son and dog.

Elsa

Dental assistant

Elsa joined us in 2018, starting with sterilization, inventory and the day-to-day running of the office. After earning her HARP certificate for dental x-rays, she became a full-time dental assistant and now assists Dr. Simon. She loves nature and time on the water with her three kids.

Brigitte

Office administrator

Brigitte began her dental career in Toronto as a Level I dental assistant and joined Hazeldean Family Dental Centre in 1998 as its first office administrator. She has three grown sons and enjoys gardening, yoga and time at the lake with her husband and dogs.

Soodeh

Receptionist

Soodeh has worked in dentistry for more than three years and holds a master's degree in psychology. She moved to Canada in 2021 and makes a point of helping every patient feel at ease. She enjoys tennis, swimming and outdoor adventures with her husband.
